Australian born Aussie Cossack rose to prominence during the NSW lockdowns as an outspoken media personality notorious for his hilarious interactions with the NSW police and numerous large scale campaigns against corrupt politicians.
After having played Rugby for the first XV at Sydney’s prestigious Trinity Grammar School he left Australia for Moscow at the age of 18 to study at the Moscow Sretensky Seminary. It was here that he he had his first posting as a journalist under the direction of Vladimir Putin’s spiritual advisor Archimandrite Tihon Shevkunov. Whilst in Russia Boikov became heavily involved in the Russian Cossack movement – a group which has been described by western media as a “pro-Putin paramilitary army which numbers in the millions.”
Upon returning to Australia Boikov was elected the Ataman of the Australian Cossack chapter and founded a pro-Russian political newspaper called Russian Frontier which featured in a 2019 Four Corners documentary. For 10 years the Aussie Cossack had a career in the Labor Hire business employing thousands of western Sydney construction professionals. With the outset of lockdowns and the pressure the NSW Government placed against small business Boikov focused his energy on media, politics and political activism rapidly amassing a combined following of over 300,000 subscribers on various social media platforms.
In February 2022 he withdrew his nomination as an independent candidate for the Strathfield Bi-election at the onset of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. The main stream media branded as an “unvaccinated pro-Russian propagandist” and accused Boikov of being “Putin’s number one man in Oz”. The notoriety generated by the constant mainstream media attacks only furthered Aussie Cossack’s notoriety and Boikov’s legal team brought defamation claims against the Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail & Channel 10 which ended in an undisclosed successful mediation settlement.
In May of 2022 the Aussie Cossack was jailed for 10 months for breaching a suppression and non-publication order for content posted to his YouTube channel. Thousands of his supporters rallied in his defence as many interpreted this harsh sentence as just another government intimidation tactic intended to shut the Aussie Cossack’s voice down for good. Whilst serving time in maximum security prison in Sydney’s infamous Long Bay Jail he was given the rare classification of “National Security Interest inmate”. After successfully winning an appeal against the severity of the sentence Aussie Cossack left prison vowing to double down and continue broadcasting truth to the masses.
In December 2022 the Aussie Cossack defected to the Russian Consulate in Sydney where he was granted diplomatic asylum. From his studio within the Consulate building he now broadcasts daily on TNT Radio.
