The wife of a Texas judge was arrested after she allegedly shot and killed their nephew during a fight inside the couple’s home last week, authorities and reports said.

Mei Huang Wolfe was taken into custody after her husband, Harris County Justice of the Peace Bob Wolfe, called 911 to report the incident on Thursday night, KABB reported.

The fight may have started because the alleged shooter no longer wanted her nephew-in-law, identified as 40-year-old James Wolfe II, living in the home as part of an ongoing feud between the relatives, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.

“It may have been a situation where the female homeowner felt that he wasn’t welcome anymore and a disturbance broke out over that,” top cop Ed Gonzalez said, per KHOU.

“She retrieved a pistol and something happened during the altercation and she fired a shot, striking the nephew.”

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, law enforcement said.

The judge unsuccessfully tried to get the gun away from his wife before she fired at the son of his sibling, Harris sheriff officials told People.

Mei Huang Wolfe, 48, was charged with murder, Gonzalez said in a post on X.

She was remanded to jail on a $100,000 bond with another court hearing expected Monday.

Bob Wolfe assumed the bench as a justice of the peace in a part of the Texas county in 2023 after he clinched an election the previous November.

The Houston native has two sons from a previous marriage. He shares a daughter with Mei Huang, whom he married after his first wife died, according to his campaign website.

He is also the grandfather of two granddaughters, another online bio says.

The blurb also noted that he and his wife attend a local Baptist church.
